🌿 Little Peeps at Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary

For children ages 18–36 months and their caregivers

This wholesome group introduces young children and their families to the therapeutic benefits of nature through hands-on, age-appropriate exploration at the Mass Audubon Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary in Topsfield.

Each session includes:

• 🌲 Nature walks that support sensory regulation, safety, and community connection
• 🎶 Songs, movement, and breathing exercises
• 🧺 Simple sensory activities
• 🧸 Unstructured play at the site's natural playground

This group is ideal for families seeking alternative therapeutic experiences or those with limited access to the outdoors.

🌦 Rain or Shine!

We meet in all weather (except thunderstorms or weather advisories). Please dress appropriately and bring essentials like:

• Rain jackets or sun clothing
• Hats, high socks, and sunscreen
• Water bottles

⚠️ Important Notes

• Siblings are welcome if safely worn in a front carrier or hiking backpack. Due to safety considerations, attendance of other siblings is reviewed case by case—please contact us to discuss!
• Strollers are not suitable for the trails due to uneven terrain. Please reach out if you have any concerns about accessing the trails to discuss!

🗓 Group Routine

• 🎉 Parachute time in the garden with songs, shakers, and greetings
• 🚶‍♂️ Hike the innermost trail with a break at the big tree benches for water, snack, and a song
• 🧸 Free play at the Natural Playground with optional nature-based sensory bins
• 🎈 Parachute goodbye and stickers
