Northeast ARC EI Cape Ann Groups

The group focuses on socialization with peers, as well as practice with transition, routine, and social skills. Parents and children engage in play together, which supports relationship building within the nurturing space. The facilitating clinician greets the children and parents and is available to check in with parents/caregivers for questions and/or concerns, as well as to model engagement, language, and play. Free play is followed by clean-up and circle time, which consists of greetings, familiar songs, and an introduction to the art activity. After the art activity, the children have time for indoor gross motor play. Each class ends with a closing circle including more songs and a brief story. Parents are expected to actively engage with their children during this cooperative group, as children look to their caregivers for support and modeling as they develop.
